Renee Silvestre

After studying Interior Design at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Renee returned to her hometown of Los Angeles. producing fine furniture for family owned Mission Upholstery Studio, their Melrose Avenue atelier.
While continuing her education at UCLA in the Interior Design department, she began by rendering furniture for discriminating designers and clients. Through her association with French furniture designer and octogenarian Eric Bolin, Renee learned the intricacies of furniture design and construction. As a team, they designed for such notables as Elton John and the Disney and Ahmanson families.
Renee Silvestre Interior Design was founded in 1979. In 1993, she began Ottoman Empire, a boutique company based on the premise that ottomans and vanities were versatile, functional, and difficult to find. She brought the company to the national market in less than six months, displaying the line in upscale wholesale showrooms throughout the country. Renee continues her residential Interior Design business today so as to continue learning from her clients as they do from her.

Lisa Strong

Lisa Strong is a designer based in Los Angeles. She divides her time between The Platt Collections and works for her own company, Lisa Strong Design. With an emphasis on residential interiors, Lisa Strong Design has also worked on several commercial design projects. Her client list and projects are as individual and unique as Los Angeles itself. She attended the University of Washington and Otis-Parsons School of Design; her education included woodworking, metalworking and furniture design.

Phylliss Mann

Education:

Since beginning in the design department of Nieman Marcus in Dallas, a long career of nation wide commissions followed in both interior design and product design. Director of design for the Platt Collections for many years, and award winner for furniture and accessory design. Traveling extensively for Platt Collections to resource exotic and unusual materials, particularly in the Orient and Europe.
